Snapchat – the popular app that lets you send ten second pictures and videos to friends and family – released an update in December 2013 that allowed users to take advantage of a number of different features, including the ability to change the size and font of the text used to send a message. This can enhance the look of your Snaps, and it is easy to incorporate this feature by following a few simple steps. Here are some tips on how to change Snapchat text font/size/colour.
1. Accessing your settings In order to change the font used to send Snaps to your friends and family, firstly you will need to open the Snapchat app on your mobile tablet or smartphone device. Once you have done this you will be at the main sign-in page. Enter your log in details, such as your user name and password, and wait a few seconds for the app to load. Once you have opened the app, click on the Settings menu – you can do this by clicking on the icon in the bottom left-hand corner of the screen. Remember that when you open Snapchat, your camera will display whatever is in front of this and will show up in the main interface of the app so try not to be distracted by this.
2. Accessing smart filters Once you have accessed the Settings menu, click on Additional Services and the click on Manage. This will provide you with a list of different filters that can now be incorporated into your Snaps since the latest software update. On this menu, you will find a number of options, including Smart Filters, where you will be provided with information such as the temperature and time when you take a Snap. This information is provided by the Weather Channel and can be useful when sending Snaps. To access this feature just slide the bar to the right.
3. Turning on Special Text The fifth option down in the Manage menu reads Special Text. This will enable you to add larger text to any Snap you send to friends and family. This feature effectively allows you to change the size of the font and will make your Snaps a lot more interesting. To activate this feature, just slide the bar to the right until you are able to see green, and then click on the arrow at the top left hand corner of the screen to get back to the main Settings menu.
4. Other new features Other features in the Manage menu include the ability to brighten up Snaps that have been taken in darker conditions. Front Facing Flash can be activated in this menu, and will turn your screen white when you are taking a picture in the dark, making it easier to take Snaps late at night. Replay is another new feature where you will be able to re-watch a Snap of your choice once per day. This is a great idea if you received the Snap the first time round when you were in a noisy environment or were unable to watch it properly.
